Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 2026
Plants Journaling ("we", "our", or "the App") is a personal plant journaling application designed to help you track the growth and care of your plants. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information only when you explicitly grant permission:
Photos and Media
When you add a new journal entry, you can choose photos or videos from your device’s photo library or take new ones with the camera. These images are stored locally on your device and synced to your personal iCloud account if you enable iCloud sync. We do not access your entire photo library unless you grant permission.
Location Data
When you create a journal entry, the app may record the approximate GPS location of where the photo/entry was added. This allows the Map view to show where each plant is located. Location data is saved only with that specific entry and is never shared with third parties.
Weather Data
The app fetches basic current weather information (temperature, rain probability, etc.) based on your device’s location to provide smart care suggestions (e.g., “water today” or “skip watering”). Weather data is obtained through Apple’s Weather service or similar public APIs and is not stored beyond the current session.
User-Entered Content
Journal entries, notes, plant names, reminders, and tasks you create in the To Do tab. All of this data stays on your device and in your iCloud account.
Usage Data
Basic anonymous information about app crashes or performance may be collected automatically to help us improve the app (via Apple’s standard crash reporting).
We do not collect:
Your name, email address, or any account registration data (the app does not require login).
Any financial information.
Contacts, browsing history, or data from other apps.
2. How We Use Your Information
To let you create, view, and organize your plant journal entries and gallery.
To display your plants on the Map view using the location you provided.
To show helpful weather-based reminders (e.g., watering suggestions).
To send you push notifications for the reminders and tasks you set yourself.
To improve the app through anonymous crash and performance data.
3. Data Storage and Sync
All your photos, entries, and plant data are stored locally on your device.
If you enable iCloud sync, your journal data (including photos) is encrypted and synced securely through Apple’s iCloud service. You can safely delete photos from your main Photos app without losing them in Plants Journaling.
We do not have access to your iCloud data. Apple handles the encryption and storage.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Your data may be shared only in these limited cases:
With Apple (for iCloud sync, crash reporting, or App Store functionality).
If required by law (e.g., court order).
5. Your Rights and Controls
You can control or revoke permissions at any time in your device Settings:
Photos → Plants Journaling

Notifications
You can delete individual entries or all your data directly inside the app. Deleting the app will remove all local data.
6. Children’s Privacy
The app is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided data, please contact us to delete it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Effective Date” at the top and, where appropriate, within the app.
